Caterpillar Cove (Preschool Room)
- The ratio for this room is 10 children to 1 caregiver
- The preschool room consists of ages 3 and1/2 to 6 yrs old
- Creative Kids provides a year round preschool program.
- The lead teacher in the Caterpillar Cove is a state certified teacher who is ready to assist your child as they prepare for school. The assistant in the Caterpillar Cove is a student at Baker College studying Early Childhood Education.
- From here, the children graduate to pre-kindergarten or kindergarten in their school district. They also move to the Kids Club room (Before and after school program) at Creative Kids.
This preschool room uses the Reggio Emilia approach to learning. Through this curriculum the children learn through imaginary play indoors and out, Outdoor fun is a key component to this room. These students enjoy gardening in the summer, and always find teachable moments while outdoors. The Caterpillar Cove does many hands on activities and also focus strongly on school readiness. The Caterpillar Cove will also be using the Zoo phonics alphabet recognition. This room is a place where the kids can increase their language skills and learn how to communicate with other students and their teachers.
